Please bring a picnic blanket and enjoy Shakespeare while sipping on some of Lumos' fabulous wine and grabbing a bite from Nick's Soul Food Truck.
Seating for this event is BYOC - Bring your own chair! We will have a traditional "groundling" space near the front for those of you who want to lay out a picnic blanket, and then space farther back to set up camp chairs. Please note: we will NOT be providing chairs, so please plan accordingly.
ABOUT
The King of Navarre and his two best friends are huge nerds, and they make a pact to spend three years studying together while ignoring worldly pursuits. Unfortunately, the King is so excited to launch his own little academy that he forgets that the Princess of France and her ladies are about to arrive on an important visit of state. Scrambling to balance providing appropriate hospitality while keeping to their scholarly vows, the King and his friends rapidly find themselves falling in love. With the dubious help of the rest of the King's household (including an overly dramatic Spaniard, a sassy swain, and a galaxy-brained schoolmaster), the lords attempt to woo the ladies before some unexpected news brings everything tumbling down. You wont want to miss this new adaptation of the silliest, frothiest, and punniest of Shakespeares comedies.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Merely Players is an actor-managed traveling Shakespeare company based in Corvallis, Oregon. We make collaborative theatre that can travel anywhere in the Central Willamette Valley. Our goal is to make the classic plays of William Shakespeare and his contemporaries as accessible, interactive, irreverent, fast-paced, and fun as they possibly can be. We accomplish this by going back to the basics a small group of actors, sans sets, sans lights, sans modern theatrical bells and whistles, connecting on a deep and personal level with the audience, with each other, and with the playtexts themselves.
TICKET INFORMATION
Tickets are $17 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased here in advance, or at the door (cash preferred if you are buying them at the door). There will be open seating for this performance, unless you have a specific seating need that has been communicated to us beforehand.

Hello! The seating is Bring Your Own Chair and first come first serve. We will have a space in the front dedicated to those who want "goundling" seating on picnic blankets, and then space to set up chairs behind that. Thank you! |
